Interchange Justification Report for McGinnis Ferry Road and GA 400
Start Date: 2007
Completion Date: 2008
Total CID Investment: $125,000.00
Partner: Forsyth County
The CID worked with Forsyth County to determine the feasibility of interchange construction at McGinnis Ferry Road and Georgia Highway 400. Previously, the only access points to Georgia 400 were at Windward Parkway to the south, and McFarland Road to the north.
Almost $4 million in federal funds were allocated for the new interchange, but work could not begin until a study called an “Interchange Justification Report” (IJR) was completed.
In addition to allocating funds towards the study, the CID Board approached several local real estate developers – including Adam Orkin and Bob Voyles of Seven Oaks Company – to assist in funding the study.
